Did you know Michigan is home to over 50 combined species of reptiles and amphibians, including snakes, turtles, frogs, toads, salamanders and lizards! Join us to learn about these fascinating members of our ecosystems and have the chance to meet them up close in a safe, controlled setting.
This family friendly presentation features a mix of common to rare frogs, salamanders, turtles and snakes from Nature Discovery’s extensive zoo of Michigan-native “herps.” Discussion includes identification, interesting behaviors, habitat associations and conservation issues while giving you up-close encounters with each specimen. At the presentation’s conclusion you are invited to watch some being fed and even have the opportunity to handle a few snakes!
